Secretary to the President Saman Ekanayake chairs a meeting with secretaries of Cabinet-rank ministries following their appointment by President Ranil Wickremesinghe yesterday
President Ranil Wickremesinghe yesterday reshuffled the secretaries of eight ministries with effect from 1 January 2023 and extended the tenure of the secretaries of three ministries for a further year.
Ministry of Public Administration, Home Affairs, Provincial Councils and Local Government Secretary M.M.P.K. Mayadunne has been transferred to the Ministry of Transport and Highways while H.K.D.W.M.N.B. Hapuhinne who served as the Secretary to the Ministry of Women Child Affairs and Social Empowerment has been transferred to the Ministry of Public Administration, Home Affairs, Provincial Councils and Local Government.
The Additional Secretary to the Ministry of Labour and Foreign Employment M. Yamuna Perera has been appointed to the post of Secretary to the Ministry of Women Child Affairs and Social Empowerment, Additional Secretary to the Ministry of Public Administration, Home Affairs, Provincial Councils and Local Government M.M. Naimuddin has been appointed as the Secretary to the Ministry of Investment Promotion and R.M.W.S. Samaradivakara, Additional Secretary to the Ministry of Agriculture has been appointed as the Secretary to the Ministry of Tourism and Lands.
Senior Secretary to the President A.M.P.M. B. Atapattu has been appointed as the Secretary to the Ministry of Trade, Commerce and Food Security.
Department for Registration of Persons Commissioner General P.V. Gunatillake has been appointed to the Ministry of Public Security and Jaffna District Secretary K. Mahesan has been appointed as the Secretary to the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs.
Further, the tenure of the Ministry of Justice, Prison Affairs and Constitutional Reform Secretary Wasantha Perera, the Ministry of Education Secretary M.N. Ranasinghe and the Ministry of Irrigation Secretary U.D.C. Jayalal was extended for one year.
