CIMA Sri Lanka, the International Chamber of Commerce Sri Lanka and the Daily FT have come together, yet again, to bring you a forum that will unravel the impact of the Budget 2021 followed by a panel discussion with esteemed business leaders on 18 November, at 6 p.m. via zoom. The first of such events lined up post the presentation of the Budget in the Parliament on 17 November, participants will benefit from the eminent line up of speakers and panellists.
The keynote at the forum will be delivered by State Minister of Money and Capital Market and State Enterprise Reforms Ajith Nivard Cabraal. KPMG Sri Lanka Principal Tax & Regulatory Suresh R.I. Perera FCMA, CGMA, will be presenting an ‘Overview of the 2021 Budget and its tax implications to businesses’ which will be followed by ‘Business impact of the National Budget 2021’, presented by Export Development Board Chairman/GRI Tiresv Prabhash Subasinghe. Thereafter, Central Bank of Sri Lanka Former Assistant Governor Anila Dias Bandaranaike will present on the topic the ‘Macro-economic impact to Business’.
The speakers will be joined by Central Bank of Sri Lanka Former Deputy Governor W.A. Wijewardene, Hotels Association of Sri Lanka President Sanath Ukwatte, and Access Engineering Co-founder/MD Christopher Joshua, for the panel discussion, which will be moderated by Daily FT Founding Editor/CEO Nisthar Cassim, and ICC Sri Lanka/Hatton National Bank PLC Chairman Dinesh Weerakkody FCMA, CGMA. The panellists will cover the impact to the general business climate as well as to their specific industries such as tourism and construction.
CIMA’s budget forums are much sought-after due to the comprehensive coverage and content. This budget forum is open for CIMA and ICCSL members as well as accountancy/finance students, professionals and the general public. Entrance is by tickets at Rs. 1,500 for students/members and Rs. 2,000 for non-members.
