Sri Lanka Tourism will shortly launch a Rs. 450 million public relations push to improve Sri Lanka's image post-Easter Sunday terror attacks.

Sri Lanka Tourism Chairman Kishu Gomes said yesterday that the near-two-month PR exercise to be executed by a specialist global agency will cost Rs. 450 million, but the assignment is pending Government approval.

Given the widespread negative global media since the 21 April incident, the need for an effective and urgent PR campaign has been emphasised by the tourism industry.

Gomes said that they have identified a competent party and full disclosure will be made once approved.
