Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe |
Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe will make a statement in Parliament today on the ongoing talks with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to restructure the country’s debt.
Minister of Transport and Highways Bandula Gunawardena said this in response to a query by Chief Opposition Whip Lakshman Kiriella who questioned the outcome of the talks with the IMF.
“Some foreign media organisations have reported that the negotiations with the IMF had failed. We would like to know the real situation. We hope that the negotiations with the IMF will be a success as the people of this nation must be relieved of their suffering,” Kiriella said.
