Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa has called for a meeting of leaders of all political parties of the last Parliament today to discuss the evolving situation with the spread of the new coronavirus (COVID-19) in the country.
The meeting will be held at 10 a.m. at the Prime Minister’s official residence Temple Trees. As of yesterday, 91 persons have been tested positive with COVID-19 whilst several hundreds are still in hospital and in self-quarantine and in dedicated centres.
UNP Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe and former Speaker Karu Jayasuriya among others had called for a non-partisan approach to tackle the problem.
