The Sri Lanka Navy yesterday said it had intercepted a large haul of drugs estimated to be worth Rs. 10 billion in an operation in high seas.
According to Navy Spokesman Lt. Commander Isuru Sooriyabanadara, the Navy has found 500 kg of substances suspected to be cocaine and 500kg of methamphetamine known as ICE onboard a vessel which had been taken into custody and was towed to port yesterday.
The Navy did not release any further information citing an ongoing operation.
