Nandalal continues as CBSL Chief

The Central Bank of Sri Lanka announced yesterday that President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has re-appointed Dr. P. Nandalal Weerasinghe as the Governor for a further term of six years, with effect from 4 July 2022.

He was serving multiple predecessors terms starting from Dr. Indrajit Coomawaraswamy, Prof. W.D. Lakshan and Ajith Nivard Cabraal.

The appointment follows Finance Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe, who is also the Prime Minister, making the relevant recommendation.
