The delegation from Sri Lanka, led by Youth and Sports Minister Namal Rajapaksa, who travelled on the inaugural international flight to Kushinagar, India, returned after a successful two-day, multi-city visit.
During the brief meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Rajapaksa presented the first copy of the tri-lingual – Sinhala, Tamil and English translations – of the holy Bhagwad Gita in Kushinagar, on Wednesday.
The delegation consisted of 95 representatives of the Maha Sanga and four State Ministers. The delegation paid their respects at Parinirvan Stupa and Ramabhar Stupa in Kushinagar and sought blessings of the Buddha at Mulagandha Kutti Vihara in Saranath as well.
