Litro Gas Chairman Muditha Peiris said a total of Rs. 14 billion has been paid to the Treasury thus far from the $ 70 million received by the World Bank to sustain the gas supply. “We have paid Rs. 6.5 billion in September and paid another Rs. 7.5 billion on Friday,” he said, explaining that Litro Gas has started repaying its debts in rupees once again as the loan amount received from the World Bank was used to resolve the gas crisis. The Litro Chairman pledged that the full amount of $ 70 million will be paid to the Treasury by December.
Litro Gas Media Spokesman V. Ketheshwaram yesterday informed that Litro domestic gas prices will be further reduced in November.
As per the gas price formula, the fifth of each month has been allocated to enforce price revisions.
“LP gas prices are likely to drop sharply in November,” he added.
