Financial services-heavy conglomerate LOLC Holdings PLC yesterday recouped the most valued status in the Colombo stock market whilst its price crossed Rs. 600.
In a falling market caused by a tech glitch and profit taking, LOLC stood out gaining by Rs. 28.75 or 5% to close at Rs. 601. This propelled LOLC market capitalisation to Rs. 285.6 billion. Around 1.85 million LOLC shares changed hands via 2,882 trades for Rs. 1.14 billion.
Friday’s number one Expolanka Holdings lost ground despite heavy trading. Its share price dipped by Rs. 6.75 or 4.5% to Rs. 142.50, ending up with a market capitalisation of Rs. 278.5 billion.
Over 12.6 million Expo shares changed hands via 6,816 trades for Rs. 1.8 billion, the second highest in terms of turnover.
