Injunction against allowing NFC to distribute movies

An injunction was issued yesterday against allowing only the National Film Corporation (NFC) to distribute movies in Sri Lanka.

The injunction issued by the Colombo District Court is valid for 14  

The distribution of local films, which was handled by four private companies, recently came under the purview of the National Film Corporation.

However, film distributors opposed the decision. The distribution of movies was earlier handled by the National Film Corporation, and EAP Films and Theatres Ltd., Movie Producers and Importers Ltd., Cinema Entertainment Ltd., (CEL) and Rithma Circuit (NFC).
