A preliminary round of discussions with the International Monetary Fund, with the aim of finding solutions to the financial crisis facing Sri Lanka, was held yesterday under the patronage of President Ranil Wickremesinghe.
Discussions focused on the financial crisis Sri Lanka is currently facing. It was further decided to hold another round of discussion tomorrow and hold talks on technical issues with the officials of the Central Bank in the future.
International Monetary Fund Negotiation Panel Head of Peter Breuer, Deputy Head Masahiro Nozaki, International Monetary Fund in Sri Lanka Permanent Representative Tubagus Feridhanusetyawan, Chief of Staff to the President and Senior Advisor to the President on National Security Sagala Ratnayake, President’s Secretary Saman Ekanayake, Central Bank Governor Dr. Nandalal Weerasinghe and several others were present on this occasion.
