Business leader Harry Jayawardena controlled Melstacorp PLC recently donated medical equipment worth Rs. 25 million, to set up a real-time PCR laboratory at the Infectious Disease Hospital, Angoda.
This is a part of the organisation’s broader initiative to actively support the government in its fight against COVID-19.
“We will continue to support His Excellency the President and the Government of Sri Lanka at this critical juncture in our nation’s history. Our most recent efforts are aimed at containing the spread of COVID-19 through proper testing and early detection. We are also doing our very best to ensure a higher standard of healthcare in Sri Lanka and this will remain a priority for the group going forward,” said Melstacorp PLC Chairman Harry Jayawardena.
Melstacorp PLC Hasitha Jayawardena, Aitken Spence PLC Director Stasshani Jayawardena and Melsta Hospitals and CEO, Melsta Health Executive Director Dr. K.Thiyagarajah Iraivan represented Melstacorp PLC in an official meeting for handing over the equipment with Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa and Ministry of Health and Indigeneous Medical Services Secretary Bhadrani Jayawardena.
