In the wake of the discovery of a fast-spreading new strain of COVID-19, the Government has decided to continue with the existing procedure of obtaining prior approval from the Foreign Ministry and the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) for all inbound travellers to Sri Lanka.
The Foreign Ministry said the revised guidelines on repatriation would be issued once the situation had been reappraised.
On Monday the Government announced that it was removing the requirement of prior approval from the Foreign Secretary and CAA.
