The Government yesterday requested the public to exhibit patience when using State services and understand that these services were operating with certain limitations.
Addressing the media, Department of Government Information Director General Nalaka Kaluwewa said a number of State services, like garbage collection, were functioning despite the COVID-19 situation in the country and the ‘Work from Home’ period, but face several constraints which the public should take into account when making use of these services.
Explaining that the Government had taken a number of measures to contain the spread of COVID-19 in the country, Kaluwewa added that imposing curfew was one such measure.
“While continuing these efforts, the main thing we want to inform the public about is that during this time, the health sector, tri-forces, Police, and all Government officers, right down to the rural level, are working tirelessly towards these efforts,” he added.
