  • Joins as Strategic Partner for third consecutive year

Visa, the global leader in payments technology, has signed on as a strategic partner for Sri Lanka’s  seventh annual Cyber Security Summit on 24 and 25 September at Cinnamon Grand.

The summit consists of three key events: Cyber Security Day Conference and the Night Hack on 24 September and CEOs’ Forum on Cyber Security on 25 September. The CEOs’ Forum discusses why cybersecurity should be a boardroom discussion, whilst the Night Hack is an innovative and informative evening of information security demonstrations.

The summit also consists of the Youth Summit on Cyber Security on 23 September at the BMICH held for the third consecutive year.

The summit is co-organised by CICRA – Sri Lanka’s pioneering cyber security training and consultancy organisation – and Daily FT, the country’s only business and finance newspaper.

Speaking on the strategic partnership between Visa and the Cyber Security Summit, Visa Sri Lanka and Maldives Country Manager Anthony Watson said: “It’s been a pleasure to partner for the third time with CICRA for the Cyber Security Summit. With the growth of different forms of digital payments, cyber security assumes prime place in day-to-day operations. As Visa, we focus on devaluing, protecting and harnessing data, along with empowering consumers. We also continue to collaborate with our clients and industry partners in Sri Lanka to enable the adoption of global best practices and tackle payment risks with greater efficacy.”

Meanwhile, CICRA Group Director/CEO Boshan Dayaratne said that the co-organisers were honoured to have Visa – a global payments technology company working to enable consumers, businesses, banks and governments to use digital currency – as a Strategic Partner of the summit for the third consecutive year.

“This year’s summit will be a bigger and better experience with number of international and local cyber security experts addressing the gathering,” Dayaratne said.

“The main objective of the summit is to create awareness on the importance of cyber security among top officers in the top corporate management and IT professionals. It also infuses them with the best practices in acquiring, implementing, managing and measuring information security postures of their organisations and countermeasures.”

“The summit will also expose latest flaws in information security that affects the global community including the corporations and the governments. Discussions and presentations will revolve around some of the most malicious attacks and potential threats surrounding the security field,” he said.
