A general consensus was reached between all parties regarding several key points in the 21st Amendment to the Constitution Bill, the Prime Minister’s office said yesterday.
The consensus was reached at the second round of discussions which Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe convened with party leaders regarding the 21st Amendment.
However, the amendment may be subject to revisions based on the Supreme Court determination in regard to the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB)’s Constitutional Amendment Bill, PMs office said.
The private members Bill tabled in Parliament by the SJB has been
challenged in the Supreme Court.
