First-ever SL schools cricket team: 40 years ago and today

Forty years ago, the first-ever Sri Lanka schools cricket team captained by Wesley College all-rounder Navin De Silva boarded the British Airways 747 flight enroute 

to London on a six-week tour. 

The team comprised of players such as Arjuna Ranatunga, Aravinda De Silva, Graham Labroy, Romesh Ratnayake, Charith Senanayake, Ashley De Silva, Sumithra Warnakulasuriya, Ravi Wickremaratne, Ken de Alwis. The team was managed by the legendary Michael Tissera. Reproduced here is the 1981 team and some of the players who recently got together to celebrate.
