The first batch of COVID vaccines provided by the Government of India free of charge will reach the country on Wednesday, President Gotabaya Rajapaksa said yesterday.
He said the vaccinating of frontline members of the health sector and security forces would begin the very next day (28 January).
Plans are also afoot to expedite the import of the required quantity of vaccines as already discussed with India, China and Russia, the President added.
