In 2003, Sir Clark became the President of Emirates Airlines, developing it into an airline with 268 aircraft, the largest A380 and Boeing 777 fleet in operation, flying to over 158 airports in 85 countries from its hub in Dubai. He expanded the Emirates Group by developing DNATA, the largest combined air service company providing ground handling, catering and travel services to more than 300 airlines in 35 countries.
In 2014, Sir Clark was invested as a Knight of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (KBE) for services to British prosperity and the aviation industry.
A great fan of Sri Lanka, Sir Clark has witnessed how Sri Lanka’s tourism endured multiple ups and downs over the past four decades.
“We are very happy that he has accepted our invitation and the industry is looking forward to his address at the AGM dinner,” a THASL spokesperson remarked.
