SLPP National List MP Charitha Herath was appointed the Chairman of the Parliamentary oversight committee, the Committee on Public Enterprises (COPE).

He was appointed at the inaugural meeting of the committee which met yesterday at the Parliamentary Complex.

Herath’s name was proposed by Agriculture Minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage and seconded by State Minister Jayantha Samaraweera, Parliament sources said.
