Cabinet approval for the Twenty First Amendment to the Constitution Bill has been pushed back by another week.
Although Justice Minister Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe presented the Bill to Cabinet for the second time yesterday but approval was postponed on grounds that there were fresh proposals that have been sent in relation to the Bill.
The Prime Minister’s office said last week that a general consensus was reached between all Parties regarding several key points in the Bill but there are some areas of contention.
