Colombo Stock Exchange Chairman Ray Abeywardena confirmed that plans are underway to conduct two roadshows during the first half of this year, adding that the roadshows conducted in 2018 had positive outcomes.
“We are planning two roadshows in consultation with the Securities and Exchange Commission of Sri Lanka (SEC).
We are planning to focus on markets which we haven’t targeted before. According to the plan we hope to have the first roadshow within the first quarter of this year and the other in the second or third quarter,” he told the Daily FT.
The CSE together with the SEC conducted three roadshows last year in Singapore and London and Edinburgh.
“All three roadshows in 2018 were successful in terms of participation from frontier market focused institutional investors and received a lot of attention and interest. We had positive inflows to the market following these road shows. We also had an excellent and encouraging participation from listed companies and stock brokers,” he added.
