The ninth edition of the series ‘A Step by Step Guide to Doing Business in Sri Lanka’ published by the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) has been released in English medium for the public.
CBSL said this is a source document, which contains information relevant for the business community and foreign investors, and facilitates saving their time and cost in accessing such information.

The booklet encompasses, in a single source, all prevailing regulations applicable for starting, operating, and closing a business enterprise in Sri Lanka and the other information useful for potential entrepreneurs.
The information in this booklet is summarised under three main chapters: ‘Starting a Business’, ‘During the Business’ and ‘Other Activities’. In the chapters, comprehensive information on the relevant institutions, documentary requirements, regulatory clearance requirements, associated costs and contact details that are helpful for the users to obtain further clarifications, are included.
The amendments made up to mid-2021 and confirmed by the relevant institutions are incorporated into this edition.
