The Central Bank’s holding of Government securities was seen crossing the Rs. 1 trillion-mark for the first time in its history yesterday, according to Wealth Trust Securities.
It said CBSL holding amounted to Rs. 1,127.65 billion as against Friday’s figure of Rs. 919.22 billion.
Wealth Trust Securities said the overnight net liquidity surplus in money market was seen increasing to over a two-week high of Rs. 105.21 billion as an amount of Rs. 156.26 billion was deposited at Central Banks SLDR of 4.50% against an amount of Rs. 51.05 billion withdrawn from Central Banks SLFR of 5.50%.
Wealth Trust also said the weighted average rates on overnight call money and repo increased marginally to 4.88% and 4.92% respectively.
