Bandula urges all to support exporters

Trade Minister Bandula Gunawardena yesterday urged all stakeholders to actively engage in assisting exporters in every possible manner amidst challenges as it was key to strengthening the economy.

After observing a year-on-year 7% decline in export performance in January 2021, he further stated that it was encouraging to see important export sectors such as tea, spices and essential oils, coconut and rubber-based products were doing well despite the global recession created by the COVID-19 pandemic.
