MORE flights between Sri Lanka and UK might be in the offing after Cabinet approved signing a new agreement to increase flights.

Cabinet on a proposal by the Civil Aviation Minister Priyankara Jayarathna approved the signing of an Air Services Agreement with United Kingdom.

The announcement noted that this would enable the increase of the present frequency entitlement from 14 to 21 flights per week between the two countries starting in the Winter Season 2011/2012.

Accordingly, the Air Services Agreement will be signed between the two countries shortly, it said.
