Around 10 persons are vying for the influential and important post of Director General at the Securities and Exchange Commission.
The deadline for applications closed on Monday and SEC Chairman Thilak Karunaratne told the Daily FT yesterday that there had been around 10 applicants and he was happy with the response.
The SEC will now go through the applications and decide its next course of action. SEC Commissioners also had their regular meeting on Tuesday.
The SEC advertised for the post a little over two weeks ago whilst the capital markets regulator has been without a permanent DG for over three years.
