Union Bank opens 61st branch in Akuressa

Union Bank of Colombo PLC declared opened its 61st branch in Akuressa recently. The new branch is located at 50A, D. C Vanigasekara Mawatha, Akuressa. The branch was ceremonially opened by Union Bank Director/CEO Anil Amarasuriya.

Earlier this month, Union Bank announced that it has entered into an agreement with Culture Financial Holdings Ltd., an affiliate of TPG, a leading global private investment firm. The investment of approximately $ 117 m is one of the largest foreign direct investments into Sri Lanka in recent years. Through this investment Union Bank will be able to tap into TPG’s operational expertise and global resources to not only strengthen Union Bank’s balance sheet but also introduce new products and expand the network in order to offer better services to customers. TPG’s aim is to see Union Bank emerge as one of the top five commercial banks in the country.
