As a part of its integrated marketing activities, Union Bank carried out a successful awareness campaign in Piliyandala area to promote its two (2) day leasing service. Union Bank now offers a range of leasing options to customers within just 2 days.
The highlight of the promotion was the bank invited the local community to join the promotion. As a result, a large number of Three wheelers branded with the product branding and its owners / drivers joined the vehicle parade and town storming activity done by the Bank staff. Whilst the initiative created much awareness in the area, large crowds gathered near the Union Bank branch in Piliyandala to get a glimpse of the new TATA Nano car which was also displayed along with a range of vehicles on offer by DIMOs who also joined the leasing promotion with its range of TATA vehicles.
Spokes person for the Bank’s Marketing division, highlighted that “while we work towards achieving our commercial objective of revenue and profit, it is equally important for us to achieve the social objective of developing the community and livelihoods. Hence, we see this as an ideal opportunity to invite the local community to promote the Banks products and strengthen our ties with them as well as support them with an additional income. Further this initiative proved highly successful and as a result, we have received a large number of inquiries as well as a noticeable increase in business for our range of products in the branch. Union Bank is the first to have devised such an awareness campaign along with the local community and we are taking the concept forward to other area as well where more people from the community will benefit as the Bank grows. The next campaign will be in Gampaha”.
