Union Bank conducted its 10th SME customer training workshop in Chilaw recently. The workshop was jointly organised with the Puttalam District Chamber of Commerce.
As the preferred bank for the small and medium enterprises, UBC launched its free advisory services as a value addition to the growth of this sector and focuses on entrepreneur development and business management.
Coordinated by the Development Banking Division of UBC the programme themed ‘Entrepreneurship Development’ included a training schedule on enhancing knowledge and skill level of the participants on business conduct, change management and efficient working capital management. Geeth Rajapaksha, National Trainer and District Coordinator of National Productivity Secretariat facilitated the programme under the area ‘Proper Planning, Productivity and Management’ whilst Deepal Liyanage, Senior Manager, Development Banking of Union Bank, conducted a session on ‘Importance of Maintaining Proper & Continuous Cash Flow’.
The workshops will also be held in Anuradhapura, Badulla, Ratnapura and Ambalangoda shortly.
Union Bank’s focus on the SME sector provides the bank an edge in a competitive market as a bank small enough to be flexible to the growing needs of the SME customer and large enough to fuel their success to greater heights.
Union Bank has an expanding branch network of 34 branches including seven branches in the Northern and Eastern Provinces.
