Union Assurance sales team bags prestigious LIMRA International Awards

A total of 100 Union Assurance staff and advisers won awards at LIMRA International Awards Seminar – 2010 held at the Ceylon Continental Hotel, Colombo recently.

Seventeen winners of International Quality Award, 78 winners of International Awards for Productivity and 5 winners of International Quality Management Award, received their awards in the presence of LIMRA & LOMA Global Managing Director for the South Asia Region Khor Han Heng and senior management team of Union Assurance Ltd.

LIMRA (Life Insurance and Marketing Research Association) is an international body of experts in the global financial services industry providing knowledge and learning in value added marketing and distribution best practices through research. LIMRA International annually recognises life sales adviser and management best practices in service, productivity and management in the insurance industry.

Since the year 2002 Union Assurance has endorsed LIMRA’s International Quality Award (IQA) and International Award for Productivity (IAP) annually among its advisers and the International Quality Management Award (IQMA) among its Agency Leaders.

Guest speaker Ng Ah Bah, Head of ING Academy, Malaysia, who is a veteran sales person, conducted two sessions titled ‘How to stay as a winner’ for advisers and ‘What advisers like about leaders’ for agency leaders.

Chanaka Appuhamy and M.H. Fernando, of Union Assurance, who participated at the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT) in June 2011 in Atlanta, USA, also made presentations at the seminar detailing their experiences at the USA conference.

The wealth of knowledge and experience gained by them were an inspiration to those who attended the seminar. Many expressed a desire to achieve the MDRT qualification and Union Assurance looks forward on more of its members to make the trip to USA next year.

At the seminar, another 88 achievers were awarded with the internal designation ‘Certified Professional Adviser’.   Union Assurance CEO Dirk Pereira, the foreign delegates and the senior management presented these awards and certificates to the achievers. Speaking at the seminar Pereira stated: “At Union Assurance quality of service is held in high esteem.

Our aim in enhancing the knowledge and expertise of our sales force is to enable them to be a dynamic force in the industry and encourage them to be quality driven at all times.

Through which, they will be able to in return provide a quality service to our customers.”
