Top treasurer appointed new CEO of Sanasa Bank

A top treasurer, M.T.Galgamuwa, has been appointed as the new General Manager and CEO of Sanasa Development Bank.

He succeeds Nimal Mamaduwa who resigned in October after having joined the bank in 2003.

Galgamuwa possesses over 40 years of banking experience, out of which 25 years has been at senior management level, specialising in treasury management, merchant banking, and fund management activities in both local and overseas markets.

He has previously held positions as Country Treasurer, ANZ Grindlays Bank, Sri Lanka, Treasurer, UAE ANZ Banking Group, Country Treasurer, Masherq Bank Sri Lanka, and Head of Treasury Nations Trust Bank.

He has also worked as the Consultant Treasurer, Ceylon Petroleum Corp. under a Treasury restructuring mandate awarded to NDB Investment Bank.

Galgamuwa also served as the Head of Treasury and CEO of National Wealth Corporation, a State-owned fund management company and served on the board of Shell Gas Lanka Ltd. as the Government nominee Director. Prior to joining Sanasa he was the Distilleries Company’s investment arm Melstacorp Ltd.’s Head of Group Treasury.
