TKS Finance ready to make the financial landscape more fertile

TKS Finance Ltd.’s timely thrust into Sri Lanka’s post-war reconstruction efforts and economic resurgent activities will be spearheaded by the Chief Executive Officer Rasika Kaluarachchi. His expertise is nourished through his previous exposures in several leading financial institutions in Sri Lanka, which will be utilised to maximise the potential of TKS Finance Ltd.

He will also have the benefit of drawing freely from his knowledge gained via his MBA in Banking and Finance, Executive Diploma in Business Administration and BSc Degree. Going further, he has also contributed to research projects in credit, risk management and marketing in the financial sector.

TKS Finance Ltd.’s capital was formed by infusing substantial foreign funds by high net worth Malaysian Investors. Chairman Dato’ Seri Tiong King Sing is a business tycoon in Malaysia. He is also the CEO of Wijaya Baru Global Berhad – a company listed on the Main Board of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad. Dato’ TKS Sing has already acquired 99% stake of Asian Finance Limited in Sri Lanka by capital infusion of Rs.700 m, thus stabilising the company’s position.

He holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration & Management and Political Science. He holds substantial shareholdings in Malaysia’s Timberwell Berhad, Ralco Corporation Berhad, NV Multi Corporation Berhad, Cepat Waswasan Berhad and Online One Corporation Berhad amongst others.

Deputy Chairman Dato’ Seri Abdul Azim Mohd Zabidi is an acclaimed professional from Malaysia. He is a veteran banker – Chairman of Bank of Simpanan National (BSN) for 10 years, past President of World Savings Bank Institute (Asia pacific), former President of Federation of Malaysian Unit Trust Managers, member of National Economic Consultative Council, Securities Commission and Capital market Advisory Council. Accordingly, the Chairman and the Deputy Chairman brings in an abundance of business acumen and inspiration, being highly respected business magnate in Malaysia.

TKS Finance will be further energised by the presence of Director T. Dharmarajah – the famous Charted Accountant, possessing more than 25 years’ experience in the private and public sector, Council member of Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka, Senior Partner of Amarasekera & Co, Advisory Committee member of Kelaniya University’s Faculty of Accounting & Business Management, Senior Consultant to Open University and reputed lecturer in Accounting & Financial Management etc amongst other credentials. He is an expert in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Company Law.

Former Assistant Governor of Central Bank and present Director General of Institute of Bankers of Sri Lanka and Visiting Lecturer of Central Bank Publications Co. Ltd. UK S.H.A.M. Abeyrathne brings in a wealth of expertise as another Director to TKS Finance.

Also strengthening the TKS Finance Directorate from another important flank is retired Wing Commander and present Director – HR of TKS Securities and General Manager of Empire Teas (Pvt) Ltd. Nalin Jayetileke, who is a graduate of the Army Command and Staff College and Post Graduate in Management and Strategic Studies from Defence University Sri Lanka, Member of Transport and Logistic Institute Australia.

In addition, other foreign experienced professionals, namely Ling Chui Zhen and Tan Yee Shin, are also in the management team to strengthen the company’s plans and developments.
