Thusitha Nandasiri, General Manager (Technical) of Cooperative General Insurance Company Ltd.
Thusitha Nandasiri, General Manager (Technical) of Cooperative General Insurance Company Ltd., was elected as the 16th President of the Sri Lanka Insurance Institute (SLII) at the Annual General Meeting held on 25 June, at the SLII, Auditorium Colombo 03.
Thusitha is a product of S. Thomas College Mount Lavinia and has completed 20 years in the industry. He has worked in leading insurance companies in Sri Lanka heading underwriting, claims and broker servicing functions. Thusitha is an Associate Member of the Chartered Insurance Institute UK and holds the Chartered Insurer status. He is also an Associate Member of the Insurance Institute of India (III) and a Senior Associate of the Australia and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance. He has obtained the Diploma in Marketing from the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (SLIM) and the Certified Professional Marketer (CPM) status from the Asia Marketing Federation. He is reading for his Masters Degree in Management at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura.
The SLII is the premier Insurance educational body in Sri Lanka and is in existence for over 32 years. The SLII’s main objectives, among others are to instil and maintain professionalism in the industry, to encourage and assist studies in insurance and to create a social forum for its members. The SLII conducts examinations on behalf of the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) UK, Insurance Institute of India and the qualifying examination for the insurance agents on behalf of the Insurance Board of Sri Lanka. The SLII also offers Diplomas and Certificate courses relating to Insurance.
