Seylan Bank, in partnership with Unistream Remittance Service, now provides the Sri Lankan diaspora overseas with facilities to remit monies to their loved ones in Sri Lanka.
Unistream, operating through 330,000 agent locations in over 100 countries, enable recipients in Sri Lanka to receive funds for collection at any of the strategically located 139 banking centres of Seylan Bank, credit to any Seylan Bank account or any other bank account.
Unistream Remittance Service, established in 2001, is owned by Moscow based Unistream Commercial Bank. Initially, it was established to cater to the CIS markets and thereafter spread its agent locations to over 100 countries.
“Having launched our services in Seylan Bank branches, we gave our clients new opportunities and access to high quality, reliable and secure transfers in a vast number of new outlets in Sri Lanka. Taking into the account growing demand for quality money transfers in the region, we believe that the new option opened will be highly appreciated by the clients,” said Senior Vice President of International Business for Unistream Shekhar Nair.
Nair added that, launching the new project, the system has significantly strengthened its positions in key corridors from UK, Israel, Cyprus and Germany to Sri Lanka. In the European countries mentioned, Unistream features especially strong positions promoting its own networks.
Seylan Bank Executive Director R. Nadarajah, commented he was positive of Seylan Bank’s commitment to create awareness of the product, offer high quality service at counters of Seylan Bank, thus ensuring the desired volumes are achieved, especially in an environment where competition is fierce.
Nadarajah also added the Sri Lankan diaspora, residing especially in European corridors, where Unistream agent locations have its strength, would make this remittance service their preferred choice, considering the multiple of service it provides.
