Akuressa surges ahead towards development and Seylan Bank for its part, with the intention of holding hands with the city and its people, opened its newest branch recently, under the distinguished patronage of Seylan Bank Chairman Mohan Pieris PC. The new branch is situated at No.119, Deniyaya Road, Akuressa, and features all the ultra modern banking facilities and conveniences to serve people of Akuressa and its surroundings.
Akuressa is an important city based in the Matara district. Farming is the main source of income for the vast majority of the people of this city. The city itself is a busy commercial and a transport hub which is situated about 155 km from Colombo. Akuressa is located at the junction of several main roads linking together other important towns, such as Galle, Weligama, Matara, Kamburupitiya and Deniyaya. It is surrounded by cinnamon, tea and paddy plantations as well as rubber estates. Pieris, along with Executive Director R. Nadarajah and General Manager/CEO Kapila Ariyaratne declared open the branch on 14 May.
The senior management of Seylan Bank, customers and other distinguished invitees also graced the occasion.
