A time-appropriate seminar – ‘Understanding the Amendments to Tax Laws’ – organised by the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce will take place on 21 April 2011 at the Ground Floor Auditorium of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
The seminar will kick off with presentations by senior officials of the Inland Revenue Department on the following: The Inland Revenue (Amendment) Act of 2011, Strategic Development (Amendment) Act, Nation Building Tax Amendment) Act, Economic Service Charge (Amendment) Act, Finance (Amendment) Act, Value Added Tax (Amendment) Act and the Tax Appeals Commission Act. A panel discussion and open forum will follow with Duminda Hulangamuwa – Partner, Ernst & Young Sri Lanka (Chair), a senior official from the Ministry of Finance and Planning, senior officials from the Inland Revenue Department, Premila Perera – Partner – Head of Tax Services, KPMG Sri Lanka and N.R. Gajendran, Senior Partner – Gajma & Co.
