Sanath promoted as Executive Director at Senkadagala Finance

Deputy CEO Sanath Bandaranayake has been promoted as an Executive Director at Senkadagala Finance PLC with effect from 1 January 2014. Bandaranayake joined Senkadagala Finance as Deputy CEO in October 2012 after retiring from Commercial Bank in September 2012 ending a 36 year stint. After graduating from the University of Sri Lanka, Vidyodaya Campus in 1976 with a BSc in Physical Sciences, Bandaranayake joined the Commercial Bank as a Management Trainee that same year. As a trainee and then as an Executive, he was given exposure to branch banking, trade finance and foreign exchange trading. In 1984 he was appointed Manager Kandy Branch which was one the larger branches in Commercial Bank’s network. In 1989 he was assigned duties as Manager City Office Colombo the largest branch, which post he held until 1992. Thereafter he was Chief Operations Manager and in 1997 in recognition of his contribution to the bank, he was elevated to the corporate management as Assistant General Manager - Operations. During his career at the Commercial Bank, he was appointed as Director at LankaClear and to the bank overseas subsidiary Commex Sri Lanka SPA and its subsidiary One Zero Ltd. He retired from Commercial Bank as Deputy General Manager (Operations). Following the new appointment the Board of Directors of Senkadagala Finance PLC comprises of P. Ramanujam (Interim Chairman), L. Balasuriya (Managing Director/CEO), A. Balasuriya, L. Fernando, W.A.T. Fernando, S.S. Kulatunga and S.D. Bandaranayake.
