Sri Lanka Insurance held its annual Life Insurance Congress at Ahungalla recently felicitating over 200 service personnel who have achieved excellence in Life insurance sales.
The achievers were invited to the congress and awarded based on a three month competition held during the three months commencing from February 2012. The two-day residential congress was structured to give the participants a wealth of knowledge in relation to Life insurance sales within the Asian region.
Rajesh Rathosh, the MDRT Country Chair of India, was invited to deliver the keynote speech at the congress, which was the highlight of the event. The event also provided the participants exercises to cultivate team spirit through entertaining games and activities.
Sri Lanka Insurance Life Congress 2012, which was titled ‘Reveal The Unseen’ was truly a educative two days filled with entertainment. Mohan de Alwis, Managing Director Sri Lanka Insurance, Suresh Paranavithana, CO – Life, and Viyani Gunathilake CO – Administration, and the senior management of Sri Lanka Insurance was also present at the occasion.

Sri Lanka is the first insurance company to have been assigned a global rating for financial stability AA (lka) from Fitch Ratings, London, which is an assurance of the company’s long-term financial sustainability.
Sri Lanka Insurance is the only insurer which has been awarded RAM Ratings AAA for its ‘long-term claim paying ability,’ which further affirms the corporation’s capacity to meet financial obligations to policyholders. The corporation has also been awarded ISO 9001:2008 certification for correct governing and operational procedures in line with accepted global standards.
