People’s Merchant Bank (PMB) yesterday announced the appointment of top professional Rajeeva Dias Bandaranaike as its CEO and Director with effect from 1 July.
The appointment follows the resignation of Anura Wickremasinghe.
Rajeeva will quit from his current position as Assistant General Manager (Clearing and Settlement) of the Colombo Stock Exchange to take up the appointment at PMB. His exit marks the end of a long standing career at CSE since 1992.
Previously he had served as an Assistant Manager of Clearing and Settlement, Manager Trading, Senior Manager (Marketing, Human Resources) and an Assistant General Manager (Business Development) of the CSE. He was appointed AGM Clearing and Settlement in January 2008.
Prior to joining the CSE, Rajeeva had served as an Executive of the Mercantile Credit Ltd. from July 1985 to June 1991 and as an Assistant Manager (Credit) at LB Finance Ltd. from March 1991 to August 1992.
He holds a Masters in Business Administration (General) from the University of Southern Queensland, Australia, a Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing, CIM, UK, Postgraduate Level Certificate Course in Strategic Marketing, PIM, University of Sri Jayewardenepura, Bachelor of Laws, Open University of Sri Lanka, Professional Stock Broker Examination, the Securities Institute of Australia and a Diploma in Credit Management from the Sri Lanka Institute of Credit Management.
