Read most articles and comments in newspapers. Have to say some are near truthful, some give plausible reasons, some bunkum, and mostly rubbish. The biggest injury caused to the market has been the naked criminal practice that took place in the market, that has caused loss of credibility of a good number of brokers, certain conniving players, and even the glib talk and utter lying by certain commentators.
The other window dressing, modification of rules, etc., will not heal this damage, but relentless pursuit of these criminals and their prosecution to a finish without delay. Their assets should be frozen and deposited to the fund that has beena proposed by the SEC. Professionals should stand up with a straight backbone and condemn these acts and not give patronage to these criminals, and, not like some requesting not to be quoted. Society should not give refuge to a fault. There is no substitute to justice. If criminals are given refuge and left free out there then society is doomed.
