People’s Bank unveils latest SME business centre in Jaffna

People’s Bank declared open its latest small and medium scale business centre at the Jaffna Regional Head Office recently, under the patronage of the People’s Bank’s Deputy General Manager (Corporative & Development Banking) T.A. Ariyapala.
Launched under the budget proposal of 2012, following the agenda of the Mahinda Chinthana Idiri Dekma, this new centre aims to uplift small and medium scale business sectors by providing them with adequate loan facilities for agriculture based products, livestock, apparel, fisheries, tourism, construction and a host of other business sectors.
The opening ceremony was also attended by People’s Bank Chief Manager (SME) Wickrama Narayana, Regional Manager (Jaffna) K. Suseendran, Manager N. Danesh, bank officials and a large number of entrepreneurs.
