People’s Bank has declared 1 March to 31 May 2013 as the ‘Vanitha Vasana Tri Month Savings’ period by introducing ‘Vanitha Vasana Wish Tree’ to commemorate International Women’s Day which fell on 8 March.
Taking care of your household needs and your family needs, the ‘Vanitha Vasana Wish Tree’ will make your dreams a reality. Women who deposit cash to an existing or newly opened ‘Vanitha Vasana’ account during the three -month offer period (Between 1 March and 31 May) will stand a chance to win cash prizes ranging from Rs. 5,000 to Rs. 100,000.
Under this scheme, People’s Bank has introduced scheme for savings where Rs. 5,000, Rs. 10,000, Rs. 25,000, Rs. 50,000, Rs. 100,000 or more can be deposited to a ‘Vanitha Vasana’ Savings Account. A special cash deposit slip has been introduced for this purpose.
The above amounts can be deposited at the nearest People’s Bank branch/service centre or in a ‘Vanitha Vasana’ account at any People’s Bank branch. The speciality of the scheme is that there is an opportunity to increase the value of your net balance until 31 May. Maintaining your increased net balance until 31 August 2013 will qualify you to win cash prizes. The draw is scheduled to be carried out in September 2013.
The ‘Vanitha Vasana’ account offers an attractive interest rate higher than the regular savings interest rate while interest calculated on the daily balance is credited to your account every month.
The main ceremony to launch the ‘Vanitha Vasana Tri Monthly Savings and Wish Tree’ was held under the patronage of People’s Bank Chief Executive Officer/General Manager N. Vasantha Kumar at the People’s Bank Headquarters Branch.
Professor Kusuma Karunaratna and Medical Specialist Dr. Sakunthala Senevirathna presented special lectures on the significance of International Women’s Day. The corporate and executive management of People’s Bank as well as staff and customers were present at the event. Simultaneously, events commemorating International Women’s Day were held in Jaffna, Gampaha and many other areas at People’s Bank branches islandwide.
