Nirmal Fernando has been appointed to the Board of Central Finance Company Plc, with effect from 3 January 2013.
He was the Senior Partner of KPMG Sri Lanka from 2008 to 2012 and served as a Council Member of the Employers’ Federation of Ceylon and currently serves on the Board of Watawala Plantations Plc.
Nirmal holds an MBA in Finance and Industrial and Corporate Strategy from IMD Business School, Switzerland and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka.
His appointment to Central Finance Board is following the exit of T.K. Bandaranayake from 2 January 2013 on reaching the retirement age in compliance with corporate governance directives of the Central Bank to finance companies.
Following the announcement, the Board of Directors of Central Finance Plc from 3 January will comprise E.H. Wijenaike (Managing Director), G.S.N. Peiris, R.E. Rambukwelle, A.K. Gunaratne, C.L.K.P. Jayasuriya, D.P. D e Silva, S. Wickramasinghe, J.D. Bandaranayake, F. Mohideen and Nirmal Fernando.
