Top professional Nihal Wadugodapitiya has been appointed as the Chairman of Capital Development and Investment Company Plc (CDIC), a subsidiary of the NDB Bank Group.
Wadugodapitiya was appointed to the CDIC Board in April 2010. He replaces Lal de Mel as Chairman of CDIC.
A Fellow member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, UK, he is presently an executive director of Jinasena (Private) Limited, and its Subsidiaries, a director of three other companies namely, Light House Hotel Plc, Hunas Falls Hotel Plc and Trojan Associates (Pvt.) Ltd.
Wadugodapitiya was with the NDB Group for three years from March 2000 to March 2003, as the General Manager and thereafter as a Consultant of Ayojana Fund Management (Private) Limited (Ayojana). During this period Wadugodapitiya as the General Manager, Ayojana, was involved in the management of the unlisted portfolio of CDIC as well. He was the CEO/Director of Equity Investment Lanka Limited, Commercial Bank’s venture capital subsidiary, for over 7 years and the CEO/Director of Metroof (Private) Limited for over 4 years.
Wadugodapitiya has extensive experience in equity investment appraisal, management of equity funds, general administration and management.
