Nations Trust Bank has appointed Dhammika Prasanna De Silva and Neelendra Shalini Panditaratne to the Bord of Directors from 1 January.
They will be filling the vacancies created following the resignation of two founder directors Ajit Gunwardene (Chairman) and Eranjith Wijenaike (Deputy Chairman). JKH and Central Finance are the controlling shareholders of NTB.
De Silva is a Director of Central Finance Company and was the General Manager Credit before being appointed to the Board in July 2011. He possess 22 years of experience in banking and finance of which 15 years has been in senior management.
He has extensive exposure to all areas in the credit department of Central Finance including credit appraisals, recovery, operating systems, tax, regulatory framework and legal aspects at operational and managerial level through several positions held in various departments of Central Finance.
He was a past Chairman of the Leasing Association of Sri Lanka He is an Associate Member of Chartered Financial Analyst, USA and and Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, UK.
Panditharatne has investment banking experience at senior management level in Australia, Asia and the Middle East, having worked at JP Morgan Chase as the Country Credit Officer Thailand, Country Credit Officer Singapore and head of Asia Credit and Capital Management. She has also worked as Manager Risk Asset Management, Singapore.
She has practised with Kaplan professional Sydney and consulted for Calyon Australia Ltd, presenting lectures, designing courses and marking examination papers. She is Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka, qualified and a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, UK.
