National Savings Bank commenced the first working day of 2017 with a ceremony held in the morning at the head office premises of NSB in Kollupitiya.
Proceedings began with the chanting of Pirith and Anushasana by members of the Maha Sangarathne, continuing with blessings being invoked by Christian, Hindu and Muslim clergy. The occasion was graced by NSB Chairman Aswin De Silva, GM/CEO Dhammika Perera, SDGM Jagath Gamanayake, DGMMs and consultants along with the AGMM, senior management and entire head office staff.
De Silva and Perera addressed the staff and stressed the need for a collective effort from them to raise the bar for the bank in the future.
The staff of the bank commenced work for the new year by taking an oath to serve the people efficiently and productively with firm determination, the utmost commitment, honesty, dedication and loyalty.
National Savings Bank said it wished its valued customers and all Sri Lankans a happy and prosperous New Year.
