Micro Cars, which manufactures motor cars locally, and a reputed Sri Lanka financial institute, HNB Leasing, have joined hands to afford leasing facilities for the customers who purchase Micro motor vehicles.
The Memorandum of Understanding was signed recently at HNB Towers in the presence of Chairman of Micro Cars Dr. Lawrence Perera, the Board of Directors of the company and HNB Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer Rajendra Theagarajah.
Addressing the media on the occasion, Theagarajah declared that amongst the institutions which afford leasing facilities for the people to buy motor vehicles, HNB Leasing had by now clinched the leading spot, and through the MOU, Micro Cars and HNB Holdings would experience a fruitful journey forward.
Dr. Perera, who counts more than 37 years in the motor trade as an engineer, said that the signing of the MOU would be an historic occasion for a local manufacturer of motor vehicles and a local financial giant and would jointly make a significant change in the country.
He also said that in a developed country or in a developing country the standard of the transport system prevailing in the country would greatly affect the development efforts and that the motor vehicles manufacturing trade and the transport system in a country would progress in parallel to one another. He also said that the signing of the MOU would accelerate the private transport system in the country.
The Geely Brand In-Charge of Micro Cars Sheriff said that the company would grant special discounts to purchasers of Geely Panda, Panda Cross, M*7 Mark II and the other Micro vehicles and in the future promotional activities will commence in all towns where HNB branches are in operation.
