Merchant Bank appoints new Group Head of Marketing

Merchant Bank of Sri Lanka (MBSL) announced that in its exercise of strengthening the senior management structure, has recently appointed Jude Gamalath as the Group Head of Marketing to overlook the overall Marketing activities of MBSL and its subsidiaries.

With over 13 years of experience in multiple disciplines with a major part of it being in Marketing and Product Development, Jude is a graduate of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) and holds an MBA from the University of Colombo, Faculty of Graduate studies and is currently reading for his PHD in the University of Colombo in industrial economics.     

 

The MBSL provides a wide range of investment banking, securities, leasing, investment management and wealth management services and has continued to adapt to an evolving banking sector, by embracing new strategies, products, and services to satisfy and empower changing customer needs.  

MBSL excels at identifying complex, undervalued opportunities and transforming them into high-value assets and provides capital-raising, strategic advisory and restructuring services to corporates.

The bank has been providing restructuring and financial advisory services for distressed companies and their constituencies for many years and has a team of professionals who are recognised for its breadth of industry and geographical experience and its results-oriented approach–where they share in the upside related to asset preservation and/or liability reduction.  

Having built a reputation of assisting in returning businesses to profitability, maximising the value of fixed and intangible assets, re-negotiating liabilities MBSL have been involved in many successful turnarounds, delivering tangible results to clients.        

The bank works with both private and public companies throughout the corporate lifecycle, including the launch, early and later stage growth. Their expertise lies in navigating special situations that can make businesses being able to survive challenging economic times.

In performing his role Jude will also work closely with the group companies that include Merchant Credit, MBSL Savings Bank and MBSL Insurance
